To create a new test choose "tests" from the left menu and then choose "Create New Test".

There are two ways to create your first test:

  • Autonomous enabled - Using our AI powered editor
  • Autonomous disabled - Using debug

Creating test from the editor

If autonomous is enabled on your account you the editor will already have screens available for you to choose from. As you tap the active screen, you can add actions from the menu or flip through the screens in the carousel. The screens in the carousel will show you all the screens you can navigate to from the active screen. Depending on the screen you are choosing, 21 will pre-populate the right action.

If you cannot find a screen in the carousel, choose "Add Screen" below the test steps and a list of all the screens in the app will show. You can choose multiple screens and drag them to the relevant position in your test. If you are missing screens - use the debug mode to discover and add them to your inventory.

Creating test from debug/recorder

If autonomous is not enabled on your account choose "Record" (forth icon from the top) in the editor and debug session will start, streaming your app and allowing your to perform actions in realtime. For more information about using debug, refer to "Using debug to create or edit tests".

You can add actions, change the flow, add assertions, set parameters and perform other actions.

To add an action choose from the menu. If the action requires an object, the object tree will appear. Elements will be highlighted upon hover. Tap the element from the screen or the object tree and choose "Add Action".

If your app includes views or overlays or for any reason an element you wish to use is not clickable, you can access the object tree. Clicking an element on the object tree will, similarly, add an action to your test.
