To create a new test, choose Tests from the left menu and then rename the test at the top of the screen to save it.

There are two ways to create your first test:

  • Autonomous detection enabled - Using our AI powered editor

  • Autonomous detection disabled - Using debug

Creating a test

If autonomous detection is enabled on your account, you will have screens available to choose from. If autonomous detection is not enabled on your account, choose Record in the editor and a debug session will start, which streams your app and allows you to perform actions in realtime. For more information about using debug, see Using debug to create or edit tests.

As you tap the active screen, you can add actions from the menu or flip through the screens in the carousel. The screens in the carousel will show you all the screens you can navigate to from the active screen. Depending on the screen you are choosing, 21Labs will pre-populate the action.

If you cannot find a screen in the carousel, choose Add Screen below the test steps and a list of all the screens in the app will show. You can choose multiple screens and drag them to your test. If you are missing screens, use the debug mode to discover and add them to your inventory.

You can add actions, change the flow, add assertions, set parameters, and perform other actions.

To add an action, choose one from the menu. If the action requires an object, the object tree will open. Elements will be highlighted upon hover. Choose the element from the screen or the object tree and choose Add Action.

If your app includes views or overlays or for any reason an element that you wish to use is not clickable, access the element in the object tree. This lets you add an action to your test.
